  • THE MID-LIFE-CRISIS CAR

Several of you asked in your last comments what mid-life-crisis car I purchased. I bought the one I was lusting after in my post way back on November 14th.  I don’t currently have possession of the car. I live in Tulsa and I purchased the car in Nashville. I am making a business trip to Nashville tomorrow and am picking the car up during the trip and will be spending Friday taking the back roads home between Nashville and Tulsa, pretending I’m James Dean, and trying to avoid the Highway Patrol. Here’s a pic of the car the dealership took. I’ll post some pics of me and the new ride when I get it back to Tulsa. I would like to thank everyone who encouraged me to make this completely illogical, frivolous purchase. I will allow all of you to take turns making a payment for me, if you wish.

  • Ooooh, sexy! Enjoy yourself.

  • That is a great car. Pretend to be James Dean. Try not to end up like James Dean.

  • What a beauty!  Oh, to be young enough again for a mid-life crisis…LOL

  • Nice color.   You’re going to look so young in that car.

    xoxoxo

  • Cool car!!! I myself would take a new Dodge Dullay for my mid life crises lol

  • No back seat? I’m sorry, that vehicle just isn’t PRACTICAL. : )

  • Congrats again! Can’t wait to see it.

  • Take very cool car , a road trip , a sense of adventure…and sprinkle with imagination and you have the makings for a new post…..

  • Ooooooh.  Just.  Ooooooh.

  • I encouraged you…but I’m not making a payment thank you.

You are going to have a blast in that car!  Enjoy your ride home James!

  • Won’t you be cold tooling around the back roads in December with the top down?  (And yes, you do have to have the top down if you want to look like James Dean!)

  • Nice car, I want a mid life crisis car now.

  • I’d love to make a payment for you. Unfortunately for you, I would expect use of the car for that month…  still wanna take me up on it?

  • OH gosh….HOW FUN!!! Now, is the weather ok in Oklahoma to be cruising with the top down? Heck, I don’t know what the weather is like anywhere but Illinois….BRRRRRR!!!!  I am excited for you on your purchase! I have the same feeling about myself when I will FINALLY get to drive my Galaxie next spring!!! I will definitely be a hot mama! lol (only cause there is no AC!!) lol

  • ooh that is totally awesome. And yes… butt crack of dawn.

  • that is one serious mid-life crisis you’re having

  • hmmm weather in Oklahoma…  predictions of snow, ice, somewhere between 1-3 inches in central…and even more so in the northern parts.  Weather to be moving south and east….east as in the Nashville direction.

    Please post the pictures!

  • I really hate the highway patrol in Ok!!!!

    Nice page.

  • Leave the top up for now. The effect will be blown if you tool down the highway topless in December with the entire LLBean catalog contents on your body. Very cool car.

  • It sure is purty!  Can’t wait to see it – you’ll let me drive it, right?

  • YEAH!!!! Congrats Mark…I’m so happy for you, ENJOY it….I also bought a mid life crisis car, I got mine the day after Thanksgiving…I bought a Benz!  I’ve always wanted one, but since I can’t be completely frivolous, I bought an ML350, so it is still a mom mobile! lol…

By the way, we have been having a great discussion through Socrates Cafe, and I would love to know how you feel about this subject I posted on…from the posts on your site I have read in the past I think that it may just be right up your alley…(no pun intended), here is the link….

  • Can’t wait to see the picture of you in the car!

  • Now don’t forget…you’re not supposed to break the car in until a certain amount of miles.  You’re supposed to drive less than 60 for several hundred miles.  Right?

  • What kind of make is that car. I love it. It is definitely sexy. What color are you getting. Ooooh, I love new cars.
And I just go nuts over convertibles–even if we can only take the top down for part of the year.
